Shy FX has remixed The Cure & The Cause, the 2006 track by Fish Go Deep and Tracey K, for Defected Records. It came out on 11 September 2026 as part of House Of Roots.
What House Of Roots is
Defected describes House Of Roots as a three track project curated by David Rodigan that reimagines Defected classics through reggae, dub and drum and bass. The three originals are Fish Go Deep's 2006 track, a 2004 Soul Central track and The Vision's 2019 release. Defected names Prince Fatty among the other producers involved.
Shy FX is best known for jungle and drum and bass, including Original Nuttah with UK Apache, which is in our Fifty Cuts Deep list.
The album is out on Friday 9 October, produced entirely by the duo. Here is the tracklist, which tracks are already out, and the album launch DJ set in Leeds on 13 November.
